The Isle of Skye has an outstanding larder and our chefs throughout the island use the best produce available from the land and the sea.  The Highlands and Islands are home to some of the world’s finest suppliers of meat, game, fish and shellfish, vegetables and herbs.


Some restaurants close between October and April each year.

We highly recommend making reservations in advance.

Fat Panda Takeaway – A local favourite strictly takeaway only, open 6 days a week it can be very busy so you can pre-order earlier in the day to avoid disappointment also you can click the link to order online for pick up or  Call 01478 613210

Taste of India – located on the first floor of the Armadale House, above two shops overlooking the harbour. Dinner is available from 5pm – 11 pm (All year) Call : 01478 611706

The Chippy – Located just of of wentworth street in Portree on Bank Street. Call 01478 612111

Caberfeidh Bar & Restaurant – Formerly the very stylish carroy house, new management have taken over for 2022 and this year it is restricted to offer cocktails and pizza.  

Red Brick Cafe @ Jans – A hidden gem widely used by locals set inside a DIY shop. Tasty, uncomplicated and healthy food is always freshly made on the premises.

Relish Takeaway cafe by day , street food by night with a Gallery and cafe seating upstairs.  Delicious cakes and great coffee think Breakfast, lunch and brunch !

Top tips:

Book in Advance – Skye is busy all year round and finding a table can be a struggle without a reservation. 

We are unable to make reservations at restaurants due to cancellation policies

Best in Raasay : Skye can be quite busy and Raasay a short boat trip away can be looked upon as Skye’s best kept secret – we pop over for lunch on lovely sunny days, grab a picnic bench and enjoy also open for dinner.  Visit Raasay House 

Best value : 10 mins drive to the south of Portree, Seumas’ Bar at Sligachan Hotel serves meals 4 days a week, ( We believe its not open Mon-Tuesday ) between 12pm – 9pm from April until the end of October. Visit Sligachan Hotel PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE TO CHECK OPENING.

Visit Talisker Distillery (Carbost). The oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye is set on the shores of Loch Harport, with dramatic views of the Cuillins, producing an alluring, sweet, full-bodied single malt which is so easy to enjoy.

Visit Cuillin Brewery (Sligachan). A uniquely located Craft Brewery, nestling between formidable mountains and surrounded by wild moorland.
