Find Us
An-Airidh Bed & Breakfast is located just off Viewfield Road, the main road into Portree from the south. We are located in an area called Fisherfield; it is an area of houses which runs parallel to Viewfield Road, from the Welcome to Portree sign and the Skye Candle Visitor Centre to Portree Filling Station, which is a close convenience to our home.
Being located on Fisherfield means we are able to offer our guests the best views overlooking Loch Portree, Ben Tianavaig, and the Island of Rassay beyond. We are 10-15 minutes’ walk from Portree square. The walk has a pavement (side-walk) and is well-lit at night; or it is only 5 minutes by car.
When driving from the Skye Bridge we are on the right-hand side; at the top of our drive we have a sign with a slate roof. The sign says ‘An-Airidh Bed & Breakfast’.
If you reach Portree Filling Station (petrol station), you have gone too far – please turn around and look for our sign now on your left-hand side.
Car Charging Points
We have a choice of charging points available close to our home please visit Charge Place Scotland for a live up-to date map providing location and charge point information.

The Original Skye Ferry

You can make your trip to Skye truly memorable by using the crossing from Glenelg to Skye. The Skye Ferry is one of the true gems you will find while traveling in the Scottish Highlands. An experience that before even getting there becomes heightened when you see the Kylerhea straits for the first time.
MV Glenachullish was originally built in 1969 for the Ballachulish crossing prior to the bridge being opened in 1975. She is the last operating manual turntable ferry in the world and very much a Scottish National Treasure.
A word of caution – the roads to and from Glenelg and Kylerhea are single track roads and are outstanding drives; however if you are used to multi-laned free-ways, or fast-paced autobahns, it can be a bit of a culture shock. Click this link for a guide to using single track roads.
